TEST

This is the test copy for the test popup that comes up when you click on the image of Logan

Ava

Ava recently moved to Ventura after graduating from San Diego State University. She was a client at the Mission Hills studio in San Diego, and found us right away when she moved to the area. She is a bright smile at the front desk and a wonderful caretaker for the kiddos who come to our childcare hours.

What she loves most about barre:
“I love how barre allows me to challenge myself, I get to decide how hard I’m going to push myself in every exercise. You get out of it what you put into it and there are no shortcuts. I also love that after my first few weeks of barre I had arm definition for the first time in my entire life!”
Her favorite barre position:
“My favorite barre position right now is the diamond thigh on relevé. At the end of the exercise when the instructor says to raise both arms overhead I feel like a graceful ballerina, even if I’m sweating and shaking uncontrollably.”
Her favorite non-barre activity:
“My favorite non-barre activity is playing with my new kitten. She is so cute and loves to snuggle!”
A fun fact about Ava:
“I recently moved here from Northern California. I feel so lucky to have found a community of people as welcoming as Studio Barre. As Cindi described it to me, Studio Barre is like a big hug 💛”
Jenna

Jenna was born and raised in Thousand Oaks and graduated fro TOHS last June. She started at Studio Barre as a client because her Aunt Addie was an instructor! She immediately fell in love with the workout and shortly after started working as a Barre{ista}.

What she loves about Studio Barre:

“I love how accomplished I feel after completing a class. It gets the endorphins going & you feel like you’re on cloud nine. There’s no bad day that a little tuckin’ can’t fix! On top of that, the atmosphere and attitudes of everyone who goes to SBNP is unlike anywhere else! So much love!💛”

Her favorite barre position:

“I love all pretzel, but seated pretzel is my favorite for sure! I love how you can really feel the muscles working and days after you can always feel how sore you are, no matter which version you do. But with seated pretzel you can really focus in on your seat and let it burn so good!”

Her favorite non-barre activity:

“I love going hiking, we live in such a beautiful area there’s never a bad day to go! All my family live really close too, so spending time with them is very special to me, our favorite activity being camping. I also love spending time with friends and playing with puppies!😍”

Fun fact about Jenna:

“I am very health conscious which is what initially drew me in to SBNP because of the amazing workouts and positive, uplifting community, and I’m currently going to school to become a dietitian!”

Allie

Allie was born and raised in Newbury Park! She moved to Santa Barbara to go to school at UCSB, and then moved back to NP after graduation. You’ll see Allie’s sweet smile at the desk on Monday mornings and serving up cold margaritas after the 5:30 class on Fridays!

What she loves most about Studio Barre:

“I loveeeee the energy and positivity! I always feel so good leaving barre, because the workout is amazing (obvi), but the instructors, staff, and Cindi are just so sweet and caring! Barre is a community of encouraging and uplifting badass babes!! I just simply love it.”

Her favorite barre position:

“Favorite barre position is any version of pretzel 🥨 ! The burn is just so darn good! I also love using the red bands in class because the added challenge of balance and resistance makes for a super great full-body workout!”

Her favorite non-barre activity:

“I love reading “Psychology Today” magazine, seeing new movies in the theater, trying new restaurants, and going on staycations!”

Fun fact:
“I studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland as an undergrad at UCSB, and was lucky enough to visit 8 countries while abroad: Ireland, Scotland, England, Portugal, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Spain!”

Kailey

Kailey was born in Bettendorf, IA but has lived more than half her life here in the Conejo Valley. She loves the sense of community! “Newbury Park is just the coziest town” 🙂

What she loves most about Studio Barre:
“Man, is it hard to think of just one thing I love about Studio Barre! But if I had to pick one word to sum it up…. it would be strength! The strength it creates in me through each class. The strength of the friendships and bonds built in the studio (and out!) The strength that this community of barre{babes} possesses. Studio Barre truly is Strength Defined!”
Her favorite barre position:
“My favorite barre position is waterski! When training to become a barre{tender}, waterski quickly became my nemesis… I even cried in my test out during waterski! But after three years, I cant get enough!”
Her favorite non-barre activity:
“When I am not at the Studio, I love watching movies! The older the better! My favorites are Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Sixteen Candles, and The Sweetest Thing (guilty pleasure lol) Set me up with a bowl of buttery popcorn topped with peanut M&M’s and I am on cloud nine! I am also obsessed with true crime podcasts and love listening in the car or while cooking! Stay sexy….”
A fun fact about Kailey:
“I am a full time art teacher and love to create in my free time! Watercolors and ink are my preferred tools but I have also tried my hand at silversmithing. :)”
Molly

Molly lives in Camarillo with her husband, Bret, their son Brock, their vizsla Bulleit and a baby boy due any day now! She has taught and tucked right up to the end of her pregnancy, so if you need any prego tucking advice, she’s your girl!

What she loves most about Studio Barre:
“I love that it combines all of the things I love! The workout, results and confidence Studio Barre provides are second to none. I didn’t even know it was possible to achieve the changes it has created in my body! The community and sense of family that Studio Barre provides have been such a gift for me from the first time I walked in the door! The combo of those things is what makes Studio Barre one-of-a-kind!”
Her favorite barre position:
“It’s a toss up between any Pretzel and Side L! Both of those positions make me feel like I am literally carving out my body with every contraction! I’m addicted to that burn!”
Her favorite non barre activity:
“I love spending time with family! Whether we are doing something adventurous or simply at home hanging out, with them is where I want to be! My 21-month-old son, Brock, keeps me on my toes and full of joy, and I won the husband lottery with Bret! Good stuff!”
A fun fact:
“I have tucked all the way through one pregnancy and I am looking to do the same this round! 32 weeks and going strong! Oh, and I’m related to the band Hanson-MMMBOP! Cheers to one hit wonders! HA!”
Gloria

Gloria grew up in Simi Valley, but has lived in Newbury Park with her husband, Jeff for over 25 years. She and Jeff have 2 amazing grown children and Gloria has been a loyal tucker at our studio since we opened in 2014. She recently decided to train to become a barre{tender} and is killing it behind the mic!

What do you love most about Studio Barre?
“What drew me in was the new and different way to exercise. But what keeps me here is the community. I love being a part of an amazing group of like minded people that are there to support each other, it truly lifts me up. Every day I’m here I’m learning something new about myself and others, meeting new people, and now helping others to reach their goals, it’s just awesome.”
What is your favorite barre position?
“Any seat in turnout, but my absolute fav is tabletop. Beware those that will take my classes in the future, guarantee it will be on the menu! I love the burn each time I do this position and my hubby loves my seat, so….. you do the math 😊”
What is your favorite non barre activity?
“I love to craft and to curl up with a good book (Stephen King preferably). Paper is my favorite medium to work with and have been known to make a homemade greeting card or two. I also really enjoy my couch at the end of a long day, with a blanket, a cat, and the TV on in the background. That’s an activity, isn’t it?”
A fun fact about yourself that you’d like to share.
“I was a dancer in my past life for 16 years: ballet, tap, jazz, Hawaiian….I tried a lot and loved it all! If you notice me dancing in class, it’s an involuntary response each time I hear music, I can’t help it 💛”
Shannon

Shannon lives in Newbury Park with her husband, Rob (a newly addicted tucker!), their three gorgeous children and sweet pit bull, Harper. Shannon is one of the few tuckers in the studio to have taken well over 800 classes! So, when she went from client to barre{tender} it was as if she had been teaching barre forever!

What she loves about Studio Barre:
“Besides all the amazing women I’ve met, there are two things that I absolutely love about barre. First, the vibe from the moment you walk in the door. I can’t help but feed off the positive energy. It is truly infectious. Second, as an instructor, I love watching the clients achieve goals they’ve set. There are a few tuckers that come to mind and watching those ladies push themselves farther than they thought they could is an amazing sight. One that I am very thankful to be a part of.”
Her favorite barre position:
“I’m a fetal fan for sure. There’s something about getting in your zone and rolling with the booty burn. This quarter I also love diamond turnout for our thighs. It’s a killer and what girl doesn’t like a good diamond?”
Her favorite non-barre activity:
“Other than attending and cheering on my 3 kids at their sporting events, I love family hikes in the hills around Newbury Park. There’s something about the fresh air and inquisitive kids that make me a happy mommy.”
A fun fact about her:
“I love meeting new people, trying new things (as long as it’s not food) and I’m always up for a challenge.”

Kellie

Kellie grew up in Newbury Park and recently finished her Masters Degree at CLU. She just got engaged to her boyfriend, Michael so there is going to be a lot of fun wedding talk in the studio this year!

What she loves about Studio Barre?
“What I love most about Studio Barre is the support it gives. The barre{tenders} all manage to make you feel so loved and supported in class with all their encouragement and motivation to make your whole body shaaaake!! Throughout my time working at the Studio I have formed great friendships with my barre crew and with our badass clients, which all have helped/supported me in and out of SBNP!”
What is your favorite barre position?
“My favorite barre positions are a tie between fetal and seated pretzel. The intense burn from both positions leave me sore for days and I feel that I can focus that intense contraction to get to most out of my booty work!”
What is your favorite non-barre activity?
“My favorite non-barre activities are spending time with my family and friends, trying new restaurants (I am the BIGGEST foodie and have menus memorized), and going on hikes with my pup!”
A fun fact about Kellie:
“I have always loved fashion and clothing! When I was little, my mom joked that I should be personal shopper when I grew up because of my shopaholic ways and I was AMAZED that you could do that for a living!! Fast forward 15 years and I am finishing my teaching credential program to become an elementary school teacher, which I am so stoked about! BUT my dream of being a personal shopper has come true as I get to order all the merchandise for the boutique! And I have never had more fun living out both my passions 💛”
Addie

Fitness has always been a part of Addie’s life. whether it be waterskiing and playing sports while growing up, or just being outside playing with her boys, she fell in love with fitness when she discovered how mentally and physically strong it made her!

Addie has lived in the Conejo Valley for 30 years. After graduating from Thousand Oaks High School, she moved to Newbury Park, and has stayed! She loves this community because of all the amazing local things to do and the people who make this a special place to live and raise her boys.

What she loves most about barre:
“Where to begin?!?… the workout? The amazing beautiful and strong women that take barre? My coworkers? My boss? The studio itself? EVERYTHING about it is my favorite🤩”

Her favorite barre position:
“Definitely any pretzel, or fetal for seat. I LOVE me some zipped up legs in thigh where u can not only do whatever torturous things the choreo suggests, but where you are also squeezing too.”

Her favorite non-barre activity:
“Family/friend time! Laughing, cooking, spending time with the amazing people in my life… I am SUCH a lucky girl to have THE BEST peeps!!!”

A fun fact about her:
“I thank barre for getting me through one of the worst, trying and awful times in my life. I have met some of my dearest friends (coworkers and clients) and through a bunch of laughs, and a few tears have learned that there’s not much a bunch of strong, bad ass women CANT do! 💪🏼Seriously this place gave me back a piece of me, and I came out better and stronger because of it!!! SBNP has been a life changer for sure😍”
April

Born and raised in California, April moved to Steamboat Springs where she lived for 14 years before moving back CA in 2004 to marry her soulmate, Gary. They now live in Newbury Park with their two wonderful boys, 3 dogs, 2 cats and lots of fish.

After taking her first aerobics class at 16, April was hooked. She became certified and began teaching group fitness over 20 years ago.

What she loves about barre:

“With all my exercise experience, I’ve never encountered a technique that focuses on and creates such a super tight core. I think I’ve actually grown a few inches by all the lengthening and strengthening.”

April’s favorite barre position:

“Side-L. Working the seat in this position really creates a beautiful shape to the back of the leg, making for a high and super tight tush!”

April’s favorite non-barre activity:

“Mountain biking! There is nothing quite like the feeling of flying down a trail with the wind blowing in your face, causing your eyes to tear up. knowing there’s nothing between you and the ground but your tires is liberating and enthralling. I like the speed!!”

Cindi

Cindi was born in Los Angeles, grew up in New York, then spent time going to school in San Diego and Pasadena before moving to Newbury Park in 1998. “I love this area so much! It is the perfect place to raise our family.”

What she loves about barre:
“One of my favorite things about barre (besides the killer workout) is the people it attracts. I have met some of the most amazing, inspiring women through this studio”

Cindi’s favorite barre position:
“That’s a tie between waterski and any turnout seat! I always feel so badass in waterski (even though I can barely ever get through it!) and I absolutely love the way any turnout seat position feels. I can literally feel my booty changing!”

Cindi’s favorite non-barre activity:
“I love to hike the trails around my house with my dogs and I love spending time at the beach with my family. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world and I love to take advantage of it!”

More fun facts about Cindi:
“My husband and I met in college and have been together over 25 years, and we have two amazing boys, ages 17 and 15. People refer to our house as a zoo! We’ve had almost every animal you can think of from birds to snakes! At the moment we have a 6 year old rescue Pit Bull mix named Sully, a 3 year old rescue Great Dane mix named Boomer and an 8 year old Red eared slider turtle named Frog.”
